From Zero to Fully Booked: Getting Your First Clients

Just starting and your calendar still empty? These smart steps help you fill your first weeks quickly.

An empty calendar in the first weeks? That's part of starting out. But with the right approach, you'll get those first bookings faster than you think.

1. Get your network moving

Let everyone know you've started. Family, friends, former colleagues, neighbors—they're your first ambassadors. Ask if they'll share it in their own network. It might feel scary, but many people are happy to help you get started.

👯‍♀️ Tip: organize a small opening promotion like "Bring a friend—you both get 10% off."

2. Show yourself on social media

Post photos of your work, your salon, and yourself. Even if you don't have clients yet: share that you've started, which treatments you offer, and how people can book. Don't forget: put the link to your Bookura page in your bio!

📱 Bonus: let your availability be known ("I still have spots this Thursday!"). This makes it extra easy for clients to book immediately.

3. Offer an introductory promotion

A small promotion lowers the threshold to try you out. For example:

  • €5 off your first time
  • Free mini-treatment with a booking
  • Chance to win a gift card with a review

Make sure it's temporary, so it stays attractive and you don't have to maintain structurally low prices.

4. Ask for reviews (and show them)

Ask your first clients if they'll leave a review on Google or Facebook. This builds trust with others who don't know you yet.

📌 Post a quote from a review as a story or post on Instagram, for example.

5. Make booking easy

Make sure people don't have to call or DM to book. With Bookura, they have 24/7 access to your calendar. The easier booking goes, the faster your calendar fills up.

In short: you don't need 10,000 followers or a big marketing budget. By being visible, making a good first impression, and keeping booking accessible, you'll get far. That first client? They'll come faster than you think.
